SpiBri by Brian Hing Forward Thinking Inventiveness award by Unity Technology in 2020

Brian Hing, 6-year old in 2020 from PAP Community Foundation had difficulty looking for his small toys under the bed. He invented SpiBri, a spider with multiple legs where each could provide a unique function to help him locate, identify and retrieve.

Although only 6, his little invention triggered an idea with the judge Dr. Tan Hock Soon from Temasek Polytechnic. If this emerging invention could be put into commercial use, it could save lives after an earthquake where even drones could not help to locate the victims. The spider invention with smart technology would be small enough to crawl through the cracks to find any life under the rubbles.

Brian received the Jules Verne Forward Thinking Inventiveness Award at the SG Open Nationals Invention Convention awarded by Unity Technologies. It was presented by Unity’s lead engineer and judge Boon Yi Fei.
